Pest Control in Newmarket
Suffolk · 14 miles from base
Newmarket is one of our busiest towns through the wasp season, fourteen miles from our base in Hockwold, and the one place on our patch where equestrian work genuinely shapes how we do the job.
Around the studs and yards here, mole runs close to the surface of a paddock or gallop are treated as a priority — a genuine trip risk to a horse at pace, not just cosmetic lawn damage — and wasp nests near stables get the same urgency. The town’s older housing stock and the hedgerow boundaries around the yards bring the full range of nest types, and mole work is a regular, year-round job rather than a seasonal one. Fumigation and solar panel proofing aren’t services we currently offer this far into Newmarket — call and we’ll tell you honestly if that changes.
We’re a father-and-son business working out of Hockwold, not a national dispatch service — the same two people you speak to on the phone are the ones who turn up, and we’re used to planning access and timing around horses rather than treating a yard like any other property. Wasp work is a single fixed price regardless of the setting; mole work on paddocks and gallops is quoted once we know how many runs are active.
We cover the whole town and the villages around it — Exning, Burwell, Cheveley, Moulton, Kentford and the Kirtlings — at the same standard throughout. Whatever the problem, call and describe it, including whether horses are on site; we’ll plan the visit accordingly.
Moles are territorial and largely solitary, so a run of hills across a gallop or paddock is almost always one animal working a familiar route rather than a colony — but on horse ground that single run is still enough to be dangerous, which is why we confirm which runs are actually active before a trap goes down, rather than treat every hill as a separate job.
