Seasonal activity
Order Eulipotyphla
European mole Talpa europaea
One mole can turn a lawn or paddock over in a week, and runs close to the surface are a real trip risk for horses. We control moles by traditional trapping — no gas, no poison — checked and cleared until the ground is quiet.
Moles are territorial and largely solitary, so a run of molehills usually means one animal working a familiar route rather than a colony. We confirm which runs are still active before setting traps, then keep checking until the ground stays quiet for good.
“One mole can turn a lawn or paddock over in a week.”
