Wasp Nest Removal

Fixed price — no charge to quote

A wasp nest found in June is a football-sized problem by August. Treating it early is quicker, safer and cheaper — and because we price the job fixed over the phone, you know the cost before we set off.

We treat nests anywhere on the property: roof spaces, wall cavities, air bricks, sheds, hedgerows and ground nests. Every treatment is carried out to product label by a trained technician, and if the nest is still active after our visit, we return free of charge.

Most of our wasp work falls between June and September, when colonies are at their biggest. A nest starts in spring as a single queen building something the size of a golf ball. By late summer it can hold several thousand workers. That is also when wasps turn most aggressive: the colony stops raising young, and the workers go looking for sugar in bins, drinks and fallen fruit.

We don’t knock nests down or block up the entrance. Sealing a hole in a wall cavity can push the wasps inwards, into the loft or the house. Treating at the entrance lets the workers carry the insecticide into the nest themselves, which is why one visit is usually enough.

When to call us

Steady traffic at one spot
Wasps flying in and out of the same gap, such as an air brick, a soffit or a hole in the lawn, mean a nest behind it rather than foragers passing through.
A papery ball in a shed or loft
Grey, layered and anything from golf-ball to football size. Leave it be until it's treated: an active nest will defend itself.
Scratching in a wall or ceiling
A large cavity nest can sometimes be heard at work, and occasionally the wasps chew through plasterboard into a room.
Wasps indoors most days
One or two strays is normal in late summer. A steady stream, especially upstairs, often points to a nest in the roof space.

How it works

  1. Call or send the form Tell us roughly where the nest is. We'll confirm the fixed price on the spot — no survey visit, no obligation.
  2. We treat the nest Usually a single visit, same-day where the diary allows. You don't need to be home if we can reach the nest safely.
  3. Activity stops The colony collapses within hours to a couple of days. If it doesn't, we come back at no extra charge.

What's included

  • Treatment of the nest at source, wherever it's built — eaves, loft, wall cavity, ground or hedge
  • Professional-grade insecticide applied to label by a trained technician
  • Advice on when the nest is safe and whether removal of the structure is needed
  • A return visit if the nest is still active after treatment

Wasp Nest Removal — common questions

Can I remove a wasp nest myself?
We'd advise against it. Shop-bought sprays rarely reach the heart of a nest, and disturbing an active colony sets off a mass defence. Wasps can sting more than once, and for anyone with an allergy a sting can be serious. If the nest is near people, it's a quick job for us.
Can I just leave the nest alone?
Sometimes. A wasp nest only lasts one season: the colony dies off in autumn and the nest is never used again. One high in the corner of a shed nobody uses may cause no trouble before then. If it's near a door, a play area, livestock or anyone with an allergy, it's worth treating.
Will the wasps come back next year?
Not to the same nest, because wasps don't reuse them. New queens do look for sheltered spots each spring, though, so a roof or wall that suited one colony can suit another. We'll point out obvious entry gaps while we're there.
Does the nest need taking down afterwards?
Usually not. Once treated, the nest is dead and won't be reused, so it can stay where it is. If it's somewhere it will cause trouble, such as inside a room, we'll tell you whether it's worth taking out.
